Klutina River

The famous king and red salmon runs up the Copper River and into the  Klutina River offers some of Alaska's finest king salmon fishing and red salmon fishing from Early June through August. Trophy sized king salmon, also known as Chinook, can range in size to more than 65 lbs on the Klutina River. The river offers great river bank sport fishing for the famous Copper River Basin reds  also known as Sockeye salmon. Grayling and Dolly Varden are common in some areas.

Scenic riverside camping at its finest.  R.V.'s, trailers, campers and tents are all welcome. Spacious drive through spots are available as well as out of the way tent camping sites.  Electricity, well water, picnic tables, fire pits.  There's no better way than camping to experience Alaska.

                                  

Don't miss our Friday afternoon Alaska style BBQ and potluck! Drawing every Friday night at the BBQ for a free King Salmon Charter for those that are staying at the campground. Tuesday night campers enjoy a get-together bonfire and dessert. Enjoy music and fish stories!

Copper Center located on the Copper River is the gateway to the Wrangell-St. Elias National park. We'll help you plan sight-seeing day trips to some of the best scenery Alaska has to offer from historic Copper Center to Chitina  to Thompson Pass on to Valdez.

 

Grizzly bears, black bears, bald eagles, moose and other wildlife are abundant and frequently spotted throughout the area. Our jet boat and raft trips on the river provide exceptional opportunities for viewing wildlife along the Klutina River banks.
